Prototype of Acient Egyptian Technology

There are two learning objects.  The followings are the prototype:
1.  Shadow Clock (prepared by Oscar)
 http://iln.cite.hku.hk/com/1374/users/wklee8/Shadow.swf

2.  The Great Pyramid (prepared by Theresa Li)
In this visual, users can learn different parts of the Great Pyramid and how they seal the pyramid by moving the mouse over different parts of the visual. The bottom part of the visual is reserved for displaying information such as texts and pictures. This is a very simple, but hopefully an effective design.  Information on other parts of the pyramid will be filled in before completion.

For the great pyramid, would it be possible to add some labels (such as numbers or color) on mouseover area to indicate the sequence if this does not overload your product with too much numbering or colour? In your information display area, it is fine that the information is in point form, but would it be better to have a larger picture? It would be more interesting to see what is inside in a pyramid. I am eager to looking the ‘secret’ of a pyramid soon.

    Hi,

I like your group’s work very very very much. I especially like the shadow clock. I can change the time by moving the position of the sun. That is a very very great idea of demostration. The hotspot effect is also good for explaining the great pyramid.

To summize, I think you use the right tools/skills (slider, hotspot, button) to do the right things.

    Good job!

    Dear Theresa and Oscar,

For the great pyramid, the picture and the explanation shown by the hotspot effect is too small.

For the shadow clock, the animation of its producing procedure and function is perfectly matched with the information box. As I found, both two part of the program “how to be made?” and “how to work?” will be displayed after pressed the first button. But I suggest to divide these into two part, each button for one part only.

    Regards,
    Dorothy

Will you allow the audience to access the reference websites by clicking the reference links?

    Dear Theresa and Oscar,
I think both the clock and the pyramid is great. I can learn how the time is tell. The presentation is easy for students to learn. It is very attractive, too.
However, the last page of the shadow clock in which the references are shown is not very clear. Can the background be much dim.
The pyramid is beautiful. But the picture is small. Can the information be more clear.

    Hi,

Your design was very attractive. When I pressed the keys, it showed me how the instructment was working. I think your final project will be better than the one you showed me at this moment.
